The Botswana Business Coalition on AIDS (BBCA) was established during the development and formulation of the second National 5year HIV/AIDS Plan in the Republic of Botswana.It was deliberately structured and organized on the basis of a Multi-Sectoral HIV AIDS Plan11 (1997-2002). In 2002, BBCA evolved from a membership based organisation, into a service-based organisation targeting the wider private sector. We are designated as the organization to co-ordinate and provide support to the Private Sector Response, as well as to develop their capability for developing and implementing quality HIV/AIDS programmes including the development and implementation of Policies on HIV/AIDS in the workplace.

Over the years, Botswana Business Coalition on AIDS (BBCA) along Business Botswana and Ministry of Employment, Labour Productivity and Skills Development has been championing Workplace Health and Safety program within the private sector. The organization works closely with the International Labour organization to domesticate International Conventions on Labour in Botswana. The organization spearheads interventions within the Services Sector (Retail, Banking and tourism), Transport (trucking and transport), Construction, and Mining and Security Services sectors
